Welcome to the QSTRLib

QSTRLib is a library for benchmarking in qualitative spatial and temporal reasoning. Qualitative Spatial and Temporal Reasoning (QSTR) is concerned with formalisms and algorithmic methods for processing qualitative spatial and temporal information. The primary purpose of QSTRLib is to provide a rich repository of benchmarking problems. It provides researchers with

• sound definitions of spatial and temporal formalisms,
• spatial and temporal benchmark domains and problem instances,
• spatial and temporal queries used in real world applications,
• measures to compare different QSTR formalisms in terms of expressiveness and efficiency,
• parameters to evaluate the performance of reasoning systems in QSTR.

Note: QSTRLib is in alpha stage

What you can currently find here is an early draft of

• a QSTRLib layout and structure,
• a syntax for qualitative calculi,
• a small collection of benchmark problems.

The main purpose of the current content is to serve as a basis for discussion and further development at the upcoming Dagstuhl seminar on the QSTRLib. Please note that the currently used formats on this website might change in future versions.

QSTRLib is currently maintained by the R4-[LogoSpace] project of the SFB/TR 8.
